Xcode Life sciences, a firm incubated at VIT-Technology Business Incubator, has won the Indian Science and Technology Parks and Business Incubators Association (ISBA) 2013 award under promising venture category.
The Awards Committee, chaired by Prof Y S Rajan, Honorary Distinguished Professor, ISRO/Department of Space, Bangalore, picked Xcode for the award under ‘Promising Ventures’ category.
VIT Chancellor G Viswanathan noted that ‘Lifelong Wellness’, a product developed by Xcode, uses DNA assessment to predict the probability of occurrence of dreaded chronic diseases like cancer, diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease. Such prognosis approach helped one to alter their lifestyle and food habits so that the occurrence of such diseases could either be postponed or avoided.
